Eivind Conducts Mahler's Titan
Louder than thunder and delicate as birdsong, Titan hits from all directions.
Chief Conductor and Artistic Director Eivind Aadland is joined by superstar French pianist Cédric Tiberghien as well as musicians from the Australian National Academy of Music.
Tiberghien will use only one hand in a dazzling performance of Ravel’s dark and jazzy Concerto for the Left Hand in D, written for a pianist wounded in war.
The night begins with Ravel’s serene Pavane pour une infante défunte and ends with Mahler’s monumental Symphony No 1 – the ‘Titan’.
This concert is part of our Federation Concert Hall Series.
